Driven by a dedicated team of volunteers, Tide Radio relies on a diverse range of skills and talents to keep the station on air. Every role plays an important part in supporting our community and is powered by a shared passion for local radio.
Radio Presenters are at the heart of Tide Radio, bringing energy, personality, and great content to our listeners every day. As a presenter, you'll help inform, entertain, and connect the local community through engaging programmes, great music, and meaningful conversation.
Whether you're sharing community news, interviewing local guests, promoting events, or playing a carefully selected mix of music, you'll play a key role in creating a positive listening experience for our audience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Presenting live, voice tracked or pre-recorded radio shows.
- Introducing music, features, and community information.
- Engaging with listeners through requests, shout-outs, and social media.
- Promoting local events, charities, organisations, and community initiatives.
- Preparing show content and researching topics of interest.
What we're looking for:
- A passion for radio, music, and community engagement.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Reliability, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.
- The ability to work as part of a team.
- Previous broadcasting experience is welcome but not essential, as training and support can be provided.
Do you have a passion for writing and sharing great stories? As a Content Reporter Volunteer, you'll help keep our listeners and online community informed, engaged, and connected by creating content for our website and digital platforms.
In this role, you'll research, write, and publish articles covering a wide range of topics, including station news, local community events, interviews, music news, charity initiatives, and stories that matter to our audience. You'll play an important part in ensuring our website remains fresh, relevant, and up to date.
Key responsibilities include:
- Writing and publishing engaging articles and news updates.
- Researching local stories, events, and community initiatives.
- Creating content about station activities, presenters, and special projects.
- Covering music news, entertainment stories, and community features.
- Helping keep our website and digital channels active and informative.
What we're looking for:
- A passion for writing and storytelling.
- Good written communication skills.
- An interest in local news, community activities, or music.
- Creativity, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Previous writing experience is helpful but not essential.
