Yung Filly to Face Retrial Over Rape Charges

21 Aug 2026

31 year old British rapper and YouTuber Yung Filly will be facing a retrial on three counts of unconsensual sexual penetration, after a jury was unable to reach a verdict in his previous trial.

In 2024, it was alleged that Yung Filly (real name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos), repeatedly assaulted and raped a woman in his hotel room after doing a show in Perth Austrialia. The woman involved was 20 at the time, and claims she went with him willingly to the room and engaged in consensual sex, but that he turned violent and forced her to do things she did not want.

In July, a jury found Barrientos not guilty on three counts of rape, an assault charge and a strangulation charge. However, they found him guilty on two counts of assault, and were unable to reach a decision over the final three counts brought against him for unconsensual sexual penetration. These three counts will be the focus of the retrial, and he will not face sentencing for his two guilty charges until it has reached a conclusion.

The retrial date has not been set, and Barrientos will next appear in court on August 27th for an application to vary his bail.
