Three Dead And One Critical After Tragedy at Shoreham Beach

Three people are dead and one is in critical condition following what local residents have described as an “absolute tragedy” at Kingston Beach in Shoreham. 

The individuals involved were all family: a father, a mother, and their two daughters. They entered the sea on Tuesday afternoon for a swim, but at around 2:40pm, emergency services were called after locals spotted them in trouble in the “incredibly rough” water. The only surviving member of the family is the youngest daughter, who’s in hospital in critical condition.

In a statement, Chief Superintendent James Collis thanked emergency workers, and also implored anyone with any information or video footage of the incident to come forward.
