Five Teenage Boys Killed in Motorway Crash
Five teenage boys have died after driving the wrong way down the M9 in County Kildare.
The accident happened at 3am on August 16th, and the occupants of the other vehicle included in the crash, three women and a young boy, are currently in hospital with serious injuries.
Only last week, a similar incident happened in Dublin when nine people were injured after a car drove the wrong way down the M50.
Garda commissioner Justin Kelly said of Sunday’s crash: “This horrific incident, after the recent collision on the M50, shows how irresponsible and dangerous driving on the wrong side of the motorway is. That, of course, should be self-evident, but what makes this reckless behaviour even more appalling is that in some cases it is being done for social media likes, regardless of the potentially devastating impact it might have on innocent people and themselves.”
