UK’s Fourth Heatwave is Approaching

27 Jul 2026

The fourth heatwave of the year is expected to hit Britain this week.

This comes in the middle of what has already been a record breakingly hot month, so far July has seen temperatures 3° above average, and only 1% of its typical rainfall.

Heat health alerts have been updated to Amber for the East, South East, London and the East Midlands. A Yellow heat health alert is also in place for Yorkshire, the Southwest and the West Midlands.

These alerts are currently set to be in place from 9am on July 29th to 9am on July 30th, with temperatures in the South East expected to reach up to 35°.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) have warned that the heat could cause an increased threat to life for vulnerable people, and advise staying indoors and keeping well hydrated.
