Airlines Call For EU Border Check Ease

Airlines and airports across Europe are urging the European Commission to temporarily relax the new biometric Entry/Exit System (EES) during the busy summer holiday season.

Industry leaders warn that the system is causing lengthy queues, flight delays and, in some cases, passengers missing departures. Some airports have already scaled back checks during peak periods while a longer-term solution is considered.
