Ariana Grande Leaves West End Show After “Ongoing Public Scrutiny”

Ariana Grande has exited the cast of the upcoming 2027 West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s musical Sunday in The Park With George. 

A representative also said that Grande will be: “taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour”, which is due to end in London on September 1st. 

The reason for this step back was said to be due to “endless ongoing public scrutiny”. This is most likely in regards to criticism Grande has recently faced due to her physical appearance. Conversations around her looking considerably thinner have been happening since 2023, with Grande herself responding to them in her song ‘yes, and?’, which contains the lyric: “Don’t comment on my body, do not reply/ Your business is yours and mine is mine”. 

The 2027 production of Sunday in The Park With George will still be going ahead, with Grande's replacement set to be announced soon.
