Tennis Player Nick Kyrgios Suspended After Failing Drug Test
19 Aug 2026
Today, the International Tennis Integrity Agency announced that Nick Kyrgios will be suspended from the sport after the results of a drug test he took during an ATP 250 event in June came back positive for cocaine.
While suspended, the 31 year old cannot play in, coach at or attend events organised by World Tennis, the Grand Slams or any national tennis associations.
The length of his suspension won’t be announced until it’s been determined if he took the substance in or out of the competition. In a statement on his social media, Kyrgios apologised, saying “I’ll do the work and come back better”.
