Scissor Sisters Bring the Party to BST Hyde Park with Surprise Melanie C Duet

Scissor Sisters delivered one of the standout performances of the weekend at BST Hyde Park, treating thousands of fans to a surprise appearance from Spice Girls star Melanie C during their support set for Duran Duran.

The glam-pop favourites took to the Great Oak Stage on Sunday evening, performing a string of their biggest hits including I Don't Feel Like Dancin', Laura, Filthy/Gorgeous and Let's Have a Kiki. The biggest cheer of the night came when Melanie C joined the band on stage for a special performance of Take Your Mama, complete with a rousing outro of George Michael's Freedom! '90.

Frontman Jake Shears praised the former Spice Girl after the performance, calling her "a killer singer" and saying the band were thrilled she accepted their invitation. Melanie later described the collaboration as "one of the most joyous times I've ever had on stage."

The appearance marked another highlight in Scissor Sisters' successful reunion year as they celebrate 25 years together. Speaking backstage, Jake reflected on the band's longevity, saying they've gone from "singing along to CDs" to selling out arenas while continuing to embrace the theatrical performances that made them famous.

The high-energy set warmed up the Hyde Park crowd perfectly before Duran Duran closed the evening with a hit-filled headline performance. Fans and critics alike praised the event as one of the highlights of this year's BST Hyde Park festival.
